Economic Outlook
Nambale Constituency is endowed with fertile lands ideal for agricultural activities;hence agriculture remains largely the back-bone of the constituency’s economy. The constituency experiences adequate rainfall ranging from 750mm-1800mm annually, thus makes the constituency the food-basket of Busia County.
The constituents involve themselves in sugarcane farming although its currently experiencing low tide, maize, groundnuts, sorghum, simsim, millet, cassava are major food crops. Horticulture is also practised on low scale, the full potential of Nambale constituency is yet to be fully realized.

There is need to empower youths through technical trainings, IGAs, financial and other resources to enable them venture into Agribusiness and Climate smart agriculture which is unexploited for self-reliance. This will in turn bridge the unemployment gap amongst the youths in the constituency.

Besides agriculture the Nambale constituents are involved in small scale trading given the proximity of the constituency to the Busia border point between Kenya and Uganda. Mining activities are also a source of employment for the youths;- this includes minerals, stones and sand harvesting along river banks and on land.
